Fine dining and a fantastic view!

Pork neck with dupuy lentils, roast eschallots and swede crisps.

Very early in the morning on Sunday we set off for Mt. Donna Buang so the kids could try out a new toboggan.  Walking up and down the toboggan run either (a) dragging a kid along behind me on a toboggan or (b) dragging the toboggan back up the hill for said kid sure helped build up an appetite.

Fast forward to early afternoon and with the younger generation safely deposited at Grandma's house, the adults headed to Yering Station for some fine dining.  Hooray!  We were a bit early for our booking so headed over to the cellar door to indulge in some wine tasting.  Tasting led to shopping (Yarrabank Creme de Cuvee and Village Rosé) and we also managed to browse the art gallery before heading to our table.

We had heard great things about Yering Station and it absolutely did not disappoint. Our entrees of salmon and tuna were perfectly prepared and cooked. We only wished they came as mains! So where are the photos. Yes. Well. They disappeared too quickly for photos!

For our mains (which we did manage to photograph!) we had the pork neck with dupuy lentils, roast eschallots and swede crips and the wagyu flank with smoked pear relish, pommes dauphine and a green peppercorn sauce.

The presentation, quality and taste were on par with some of the best Australian and European restaurants we have visited.

Yering Station is a destination in itself - book a table by the window and spoil yourself!
